I'm scarred!!!
argh..... Now I can fully appreaciate the effort and work of housewifes and moms. Was cooking on fri, and one of the dishes was fried meat balls. These arent the ones which u buy right of the shelf, all ready made. Painstakingly marinated mince pork, and shaped them by hand, slowly dropping them into the wok. Everything was going well..... However, at the end, while making the last batch, something happened.....
"POP!!" Instantly I saw one of the meat balls burst, and oil flying towards my face. Instinctively, I attempted to dodge, and closed my eyes. However, I was too slow.... The oil got me.... My eyes....
Alright, not dat serious. I'm not blind, but I almost WAS! The drop of oil burnt the skin juz above my eyelids. There's now a hideous little spot there.... argh!!! But the consolation was that my hsemates said the meatballs were fantastic!! hmm... hope it was coz of the taste, and not coz they saw the effort i put in. I dun like pple patronising me k....

Fotos from Last wk's Sizzler Lunch~~
hey, the fotos are all very puny, and its all Allan's fault!! hehe, kidding~~ I actually only remembered about wanting to take fotos when we were already in the car. Luckily there was gentle giant Allan, whose fone could double up as a digicam as well~~ okok, thats really common nowadays... but I'm still carrying a 8250! Anw, try to enjoy the fotos while squinting~~
The Drive~~~
Testing out Allan's Motorola hp. the pic looks great in the fone, very clear. Sernwei sure look like a natural cool guy aye? and Allan?? trying to avoid he cam.... aawww camera shy leh~~
Actually took a foto of david driving, with a dazed expression on his face. haha! but he'll definitely kill me if i posted it. Cant risk it, 2yr more yrs living under the same roof, haha.
Food Glorious Food!
With a better cam, prob will be able to show how delicious the food will look, but I'm drooling in my mind anw. Got the salad bar meal with grill, so we get unlimited servings at the salad bar, dessert bar etc~~ Watca seeing(left to rite) now is

Home is.......??
That's my msn nick for a couple of days now.... juz wondering wat it really means to me.... yar, we all use "home" so frequently to imply that we're heading back to wherever we stay.... So often, 'home' juz slips outta our mouth... I've corrected many frnds here, who have always answered me with the phrase "I'm going home now" when they really mean "I'm going back to hall" "I'm going back to my house"........ Home is back in S'pore(4 the non-sporeans, juz means home is where u came from...)
So what's home?? its a place where,
Somehow, I'm not really enthusiastic about the coming finals... Not because I've always detested exams, but coz there's nothing much to look fwd to after it. Most pple I noe are heading home, even for that short 3wks... me?? well, I'm gonna stay here till the summer hols come.... I'm prob not in such a bad state, coz there'll definitely be some students who nv go home for years, doing summer courses here.... & i noe there's nothing much i can do about this, and have to psycho myself to take things positively etcetc~~~ but I definitely cannot deny my own feelings and tots rite??
oh well.... juz hope that my hols here in aus will be eventful enuff, or at least not boring...
So what's home?? its a place where,
-I feel at ease.
-I can wake up in the morning(usually afernoon~ haha), and juz laze around in my bedroom.
-I can go downstairs to the nearby coffeeshop, and buy a packet of chicken rice for lunch.
-I'd call up some old frnds and meet up, chat about old times, and how life's treating us all.
-public transport is so advance that i can go anyhow by bus or MRT.
-I can buy all sorts of food when i feel like being a glutton~~ sushi, chwee kueh, wanton mee, bazhang, cheecheong fun, soya beancurd, ice kachang etcetcetcetc~~~
-I can hear pple on the streets speaking Singlish....
-movies that are screening are always the latest, and only cost $7-$8.50.
-the TV always has channels and programs of English, Chinese,Malay and Tamil.
-Mom's cooking is
-the Heart is....
Somehow, I'm not really enthusiastic about the coming finals... Not because I've always detested exams, but coz there's nothing much to look fwd to after it. Friday's Lunch~~~
Great lunch on fri. Sizzler~~
Ordered a Complete Salad Bar Meal for $13, + grill option $7. The grill thing had 3 nicely grilled garlic prawns, and a steak~~ Sedap! Haven had such a nice lunch for quite sometime~~~ Me, david juz finished an essay on thurs, while allan and sernwei also completed an assignment recently. So we were all in the mood to pamper ourselves a little.
Watched Troy after dat.... Frankly speaking, it was quite a disappointment to me... The whole movie was to focus on Hector(eric bana) and Achilles(brad pitt). But i only felt for Hector.... There was really very little scenes that made me understand Achilles' character(altho i noe the story...).... Perhaps its the very few lines that Achilles actually has in the movie.... Or maybe its juz brad pitt looking too good to actually bring out the character.... and his love story could have use abit more scenes.... I juz felt, hmm...
It would have been perfect if it was shown in two parts instead of 1..... Dun ahve to avoid the trend of having sequels and trilogies.... doesnt really amtter... as long as its good... but too bad, ended up as a disappointment....
took a couple of pics with allan's HP... but he's quite busy these days, so when i get it from him, I'll post it up~~ 4give any typos eh.... tired... and lazy...

Anw, weather is rather nice 2day~~~ its raining, and its cool. My hsemates are still glued to their beds, while I'm up posting. hhmm, think I've messed up my sleep pattern.... Actually sleep at 3am last nite.... oh man... Think my dark rings are gonna cover up my whole face soon~~~~
Planning to go Innaloo(about 30mins drive from sch) to have lunch. Lunching at Sizzler, and maybe catch a movie there too~~ Tell u, the sizzler here is so different from S'pore! its big and spacious, and the steaks are really good~~ The salad bar has more variety, and the dessert bar... eh... dessert bar.... k, the dessert bar is only average. But ur not there for the dessert are you? Ur there for the steak!
My dear DLP and XLP,when u go melbourne, muz try sizzler ar~~ its so nice~~ Oh & Dominoes pizza too~~ U'll come 2learn wat a great pizza is really like!! aiya, think XLP, u better pass the msg 2 DLP.... she always nv read our blogs, busybusy ar~~

haha!! crappy rite!! thas juz an excerpt from my essay on knowledge management. From the Web nite and Thurs morning, sleepless, dead, and still slogging. By 8am in the morning, i still had under 1000 words more to go~~ Proofreading and finalisations complete near 11am. Juz in time to hand up b4 12pm deadline.
But the rest of the morning and afternoon, I was hyper and cranky~~~ Thsoe who are no stranger to staying up all nite shd noe. Its the time where your body is so weak and tired, your eyes are puffy and swollen, but ur brain is still active, really hyper active~~ I was even singing on my way home after handing up the essay. In a soft voice i went
hahaha!! Nutcase rite!!! haha, really suffering from sleep deprivation~~
haha~~~ think David and Sernwei can testify to how crazy and cranlky i was. I seemed to be high on something, laughing at all sorts of stupid nonsensical things, sprouting gibberish to frnds, grumbling and giggling to myself at the same time. During lunch, at the fish and chips shop,
haha!yar, thats juz an idea of how cranky and crappy i was~~~ and slept from 2pm to 7pm~~

Thank You Francis~~~~
This is a spur of the moment entry. Francis msg me on ICQ couple of hrs ago. Was sharing brief details about an outing the guys were having, and how much fun they all had. Most of them turned up, and Francis said "Left you"~~ In case pple whose english isnt backwards compatible, and can only udnerstand perfect english, its a direct translation from chinese meaning, "you're still missing".
Really touched to hear that~~~ When my eyes landed on those words, juz had flashbacks of all the times I've had with them. He also share this
hahaha! My face gave a grin, and my heart juz lit up~~~ haha! Imagine kenneth with the "DUH!" look on his face~~ hahaha!
Its frnds like Francis who'll last thru time and distance~~ Perhaps its juz coz we're are really close frnds~~~ Literally suffered 2gether during our days in 46SAR(my army unit). 2 of us slogging like mad, deprived of sleep, while the rest of the company is resting in bed..... A frnship forged not thru play and fun, but thru common pain, torture and experience~~~! sighs.... dats y i always miss home, coz besides my family, I've got great frnds backhome

Big or small... Grand or insignificant..... doesnt matter
Some doubts in my head have been been largely cleared up, and sorted. This was after going to Care Grp on Wed nite. supposed to be a christian support group(cell if u will) formed by a bulk of currie hallers, and has grown to be rather big.
In case some of you have been outta touch with my life, I've said and explained b4 that I'm kinda on a spiritual exploration this sem.... Juz time for a stubborn aetheist to be a little more open, and find out more~~~
I'm not gonna be "preachy" or give all sorts of holy-moly stuff here, but things said here really make sense in both spiritual and secular ways. Note that everything said here is mostly my own personal opinion, tried my best to filter out any kinda religious elements or tone. Anw, the topic was on Service, how we should serve God. The form/scale of service doesnt matter, coz it is the heart/tot that counts.... In short, a person who serves by helping out with traffic marshalling does as much as one serving in the music team. You do wat u can, and wat is within your ability... Every1 has his/her own unique characer and also ability and talent. If you lack something that some1 has, then perhaps you have something that you could do better than that person. It only takes some time and patience to find it. By doing wat you do best, even if it is something that seems insignificant on the surface, it could open doors to greater things as well. Even if it doesnt, it sure beats sulking and doing nothing rite?
Very often we tend to compare ourselves with others, using our peers as a yardstick of success and achievements. I'm sure tots like "He's such a good talented musician, why cant I be like dat?" or "She's such an outgoing person, always making frnds so easily. Why cant I be more like her?" have taken root in our minds more than once. For some, such comparison serves as a form of self evaluation, and a push to change for the better. Yet, for others, its can be a self-esteem self-worth killer. It clouds up wats real & we tend to overlook our own capabilities. While he/she maybe a very sociable and chatty person, you are more of a listener whom frnds would turn to in time of need.
I'd like to say more... but really lazy now... basically, in secular terms, every1's fine being who they are, so comparison would only do bad.... religously... well, I'm not really in the position to comment, coz I'm not that spiritually devoted, but lets juz say that "HE" supposedly only cares about whether u wanna do it, and not what you do.

Main purpose of this entry, to amend a mistake...
I mixed up the name of my horse(pics which i posted previously) with another~~
think I'm getting senile... Noodles is the name of another frnd's horse, while mine is actually "Crooton"... I was looking thru her sony imagestation, so somehow, the circuits in my brain mixed up the names..... cant believe i went on and on about its name, and only to have the facts suddenly hit me 2day..... really getting senile.... any cure for overly pre-mature Alzheimer’s disease??? I'll edit the names for the foto entry later....

And I realised Blogspot has changed its layout. It does look rather user unfrnly at 1st glance... but that could be due to habit, so I wun put it down that soon..... I'll explore it later.....

Easter Hols Fotos - Yanchep Horse Riding
sorry! Late again~~~ haha. Was watching 'The Italian Job' last nite on my com, 4got about blogging. oh well, anw, these fotos are from the trip to Yanchep Stables. Was something organised by Xandrea(my own assumption). That very morning, there was a convy of 5cars! thats quite alot ar~~ and it was well-planned too, with attendance sheet etcetc. haha, and with abit of luck, the appointed navigator(somehow I was arrowed to take up that role...) managed to lead every1 there w/o getting lost~~

Every1's mounted up, all ready to go riding with their newly aquainted horses. Note the huge amount of pple. I think there were at least 20 pple that day. haha, Cavalry platoon~~
Noodles, is its name
My horse has a queer name... Noodles.... ??? dunno the reason behind it... din bother to ask. This pic is of Noodles eating on the job... slacker juz like me~~~ always stopping and getting distracted by all the food(grass,bushes, trees).
In the Beginning
Not some cheapo ride where u ride around in an enclosure k. They brought us out to the open, w/o any1 holding on to the reins of the horse. Naturally, the horses were rather tamed and obedient, so they din go beserk and run off. There were some Cowgirs who lead us on their horses. Which brings to mind the qns as to why the majority were Cowgirs(more than 6), and only 2Cowboys, who actually stayed in the ranch.. hhmmm..... guys....

Down the slope
"Lean slightly backwards to maintain your balance", says the guide. This is prob halfway thru the ride, and we're heading towards the beach, the ground is really loose, so was kinda worried that the horses might lose their footing. hmmm.. but I'm only a human being, so wadda hell would I noe about horses rite?? Eventually, the horses proved to have better psycho-motor skills than I gave them credit for.

The sea breeze was extremely refreshing esp on a hot afternoon. The scene is real nice, but could be better if the entire beach only had 2horse-riders. Juz u and your dream-lover~~ Romantic sia~~~ hahaha.

We actually saw a dead dolphin washed ashore.... really felt sympathy for it.... well, not that I knew of the joys of being a inteliigent sea creature, but juz the sight of death... sighs... and it had this real familiar smell... wanna guess??

Sand Bushes Trees
Thats one of our guides. About 3-5 of them accompanied us as supervisors, to guide as along, and to control the horses. 1-2 hrs of riding thru bushes and trees.... Ass and back were both beginning to ache.... The scene also remind me of my military ex. Wallaby.... piangz.... so much sand in my face.... argh~~~~
Totally Worn Out.... Trip Back....
Last few pics taken b4 moving on our way back to the stables.... Tho every1 prob enjoyed the ride, I'm sure they're glad to end it..... Almost 2 ass-torturing hrs on the horse, under the sun, breathing in sand.... and lunch is nex too!! Wait till u see wat we had for lunch~~~!
Boy in Black Polo-Tee, on a Brown horse named Noodle
yaryar, so not really prince charming, or knight in shining armor riding on a majestic white horse... But come on, I bet none of those princes and knights really endured sweltering heat, sand in their face, or rode a horse with such a queer name.... (noodles?? wahlau... might as well call it Maggi Mee, or Wanton Mee).

Crayfish~~~!! well... if only it was 1 whole piece... was only half, but still it was deliciously fresh~!! haha, lucky i chose that coz the other item on the menu, Fish and Chips, wasnt that appetizing

Ready to Go
Every1's mounted up, all ready to go riding with their newly aquainted horses. Note the huge amount of pple. I think there were at least 20 pple that day. haha, Cavalry platoon~~
Noodles, is its name
My horse has a queer name... Noodles.... ??? dunno the reason behind it... din bother to ask. This pic is of Noodles eating on the job... slacker juz like me~~~ always stopping and getting distracted by all the food(grass,bushes, trees).
In the Beginning
Not some cheapo ride where u ride around in an enclosure k. They brought us out to the open, w/o any1 holding on to the reins of the horse. Naturally, the horses were rather tamed and obedient, so they din go beserk and run off. There were some Cowgirs who lead us on their horses. Which brings to mind the qns as to why the majority were Cowgirs(more than 6), and only 2Cowboys, who actually stayed in the ranch.. hhmmm..... guys....

Slacker~~~
Been procrastinating blogger these days....
1- Din post up the other set of Easter Hols fotos as I promised....
2- Din post wat I had been thining of a few days back.... something that I tot I wanted to share(but I'm sure some of you wun even wanna listen). That I'll do after I get the fotos up.
3 - Still the same old "When She Loved Me", Sarah Mclachlan up there for god knows how many weeks.... It still sounds great tho.
& like any slacker/procrastinator, I've a reason for everything(excuse if you will)....
- In the midst of setting up a website to post more Fotos..... nothing specific, kinda like images of my mundane life here. The purpose?? Its kinda for my parents. Since I'm actually blogging to keep my frnds updated, I really shd do someting for my mom and dad too? Obviously, I'm not gonna let my parents see my blog. Are you mad!? how can I even let them noe that their son is actually slacking that much~~???? haha, but at least I still produce some rather satisfactory results so I haven't really let them down
-My com finally went bonkers! Wed nite, my com was beeping randomly w/o any reason known to me.... I stopped playing Pacman,
& decided to do the stupid ting of resting my com.... Thats when it decided not to work me me anymore! From then on, it juz kept on auto-reseting itself everything it entered windows...... Spent half the day getting frustrated, and trying in vain to save it~~~ the possiblity of losing all my MTVs, MP3s, fotos, and sch work started to hit me.... DIE!!!
luckily, I managed to save it... but its really slow now..... time to format soon.....
ok, I'll definitely post the Easter Hols fotos by 2nite~~~ b4 2359~~~~

Easter Hols Fotos 1~~
Actually wanted to post quite a no. of fotos, including those from the horse-back riding, but due to unforeseen circumstances(juz received a couple more from some1), so I'll delay those till 2nite or 2moro. For now, juz a few taken in FreO
Look at my armpits. NO HAIR!
one of the street performers over in FreO, some1 informed me that it was some Arts Fest thingy going on. Oh well, this guy's acts wasnt too visually appealing, some kinda a comedian i think.
Its my Dustbin! STAY AWAY
Those still statue performers, if thats an appropriate term. She'd juz stand there and pretend she's a statue. However, She moved alot, and very often.... so I'm not too impressed. There are similar acts back in S'pore, and there was 1 right below Lido, where the fella juz stood still for at least an hour, thats impressive.
