back again~~ almost din manage to post here..... when i came online after dinner, i was telling hongchang that i juz got a blog. n he responded by saying "last time ask u get dun get..... now then get..." hahaha. expected sia! n he was trying to convince me to use Livejournal, saying its better etc..... hmm... i did setup an acct there... but so much procedures.... prob have more features than Blogspot... but now kinda put me off with how complicated it appears to be..... nvm la, juz make do with blogspot 1st, since dunno much about it.... maybe when i start 2b so into blogging that i'll wan something better? blogspot will do for now.
oh, actually was gonna tok about dinner. my mom read about this chinese restaurant over at Safra ToaPayoh. saw in the Straits Times i think. so on the pretext of an advance bday celebration, we went over there to trytry the delicaciesof the oh-so-great Chef Chan....... my dad came to pick us up.... mom went down 1st while i slowly changed to my jeans n shirt.... as i walked to the car, was trying not to laugh...(muz think i'm gila rite... walk to car so funny meh??) u see, i juz did my hair, cut n color.... n knew my dad sure laugh at me when he sees it..... piangs..... n as expected he did! while driving there, he kept turning back n look at my hair, n laugh! FOR GOODNESS SAKES!! PaPa! can keep ur EYES on the road ornot! aiya.. dun wish to elaborate on that la.... my frnds who went out with me that day noe how depressed i was with it....
anw, back to dinner... when we stepped in, was kinda surprised by the design of the restaurant. hmm.. not that its all the high-class, but really nicer than wat i expected. not the typical orhbit orhbit chinese restaurant layout. in front of the cashier's counter, was a table filled with bottles of chinese wine. & i'm not toking about those u find at supermart. its the type where they stuff all sorts of weird fruits, spices etc into those glass bottles. the kinda big glass jars that u see in those bio labs that contain embalmed body parts! big it looked muz nicer, prob coz there werent any snakes or rats in them, but merely fruits....
as we walk upstairs, my mom began complaining about the waitress manners, "she so rude" "her tone so unhappy"... i found her attitude rather normal, but mom had to fuss so much... aiyo.... as usual.. always so critical of everything...
as we sat at the table, the waitress gave us our "menu"... thats the interesting part.... any1 noes the wooden cups in those chinese temples? the 1s which have all the fortune lots/sticks(qian) in them?? that was how the menu was present! the dishes were written on the sticks! quite innnovative! but the novelty soon wore off... can u imagine trying to pick out the sticks, n read 1 by 1.. tryin to find a nice dish!? all the sticks were strewn over the table.... so messy! female supervisor said they din have the menu in a more readable form... piangs... so in the end juz ask for her recommendations.... n guess wat, the nex moment, my mom saw the nex table had the written menu.... n her whole face turn black sia.... she went "how can she lie to us! wat kinda service attitude is this!". lucky she onli grumbled it... n not shout! kept telling her to relax, maybe she blur... or wat.... if not happy then ask the supervisor lor... n she din wan.. n coz of this, the 1st half hr of dinner, she was so unhappy.... sighs.. all this for wat?? i mean i understand the anger.. but y let it get to u?? y let poor attitude spoil ur mood? things can b so much easier if u juz speak up, rather then go into those moods.... mothers~~ the food was soso onli..... din see was was all the hoo-hah about..... CHEF CHAN?? i dun even noe who is he lor.... haha! i love to eat, but i'm juz ignorant perhaps! n u noe the how much was the bill?? $140++!! juz for a Nanking Duck, Country-style Tofu, Deep-Fried Prawn Pearls, an a SoonHock..... haha, thats was u have to pay to get nice ambience, aircon, warm-white(orange in simple terms) lighting. haha! lesson learnt, nv get too high expectations ar....
speaking of food, theres a very nice jap place at suntec lvl3. "BomBomBom, 123, we are KuiShinBo! BomBomBom, 123, Suntec Twr Lvl 3!" haha, most prob heard of it~~ woah! the jap food there really up to standard. at least for a buffet place it is. not those restaurants where the actual food pales in comparison to the pictures displayed! the salmon is so not too thin, the portions of sushi, dons etc all generous~~ arggh!! food glorious food!!!
